Dale Chihuly is a master of glass blown art. A Pacific Northwest native, he rose to fame with his experimental and groundbreaking pieces and set the standard for the glass art industry. His artwork was featured all around the world from San Francisco to Montreal to Venice. Since its opening in 2012, Chihuly Garden and Glass has become a top destination for anyone who visits Seattle.

Here are some of the pieces we loved the most!

Glass Forest: This piece is not the usual forest that HikeSnobs are used to seeing. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful 60’s inspired neon piece. We wouldn’t mind hiking through a forest like this.

Sealife Sculpture: This 25 foot piece was inspired by the Pacific Northwest waters. This beautiful sculpture contains a plethora of sea creatures that contrast against the blue tones of the “water.”

Persian Ceiling: One of our absolute favorite pieces. The HikeSnobs would love to have this as their ceiling… maybe the bathroom?

Millie Fiori: Inspired to look like a garden with 1000 glass blown flowers. The spectrum of colors really make this piece unique. You can easily get lost in this complex piece, each flower has a phenomenal amount of detail.

Glass House: One of Chihuly’s largest suspended structures. The red, yellow and orange glass flowers hanging above your head is truly a beautiful display. If you look up you should be able to spot Seattle’s most iconic structure… the Space Needle!

Garden: The garden takes you on a path lined with glass trees, flowers and plants. Walk around and enjoy the beauty of this garden. There is also a cafe outside for a quick drink/break.

Chihuly is a great place to visit. It is a pretty short exhibition and is a bit pricey but the beautiful pieces definitely make it worth every penny.

@HikeSnobs Tips:

  • Come back at night to see this beauty all lit. It does not disappoint!
  • If you want to check out the Space Needle as well, make sure you get their special discounted pricing package.

  1. Loved this post! There’s a Chihuly exhibit going on in Toronto right now as well that has been incredibly popular. I speak for myself when I say it’s well worth it to see the work in person!
