In the city of Norco (aka Horsetown USA), you will find a bright orange pumpkin rock high up on the hills surrounded by a field of dead brown grass. Lucky for us, the steady rainfall this winter has transformed the dull field into a gorgeous lush of greenery.

After finding street parking right in front of the fenced opening, follow the wide dirt trail. It should be straight forward and very easy to follow. Keep in mind, you’ll be going uphill the entire time… except for one random downhill that only lasted like 3 seconds.

Every now and then you’ll spot the top of Pumpkin Rock just barely peaking out.

5 minutes later you’ll have to climb up this steep hill. We recommend shoes with good grip here.

Once you reached the top of the hill, you’ll be greeted by the massive Tim Burton-esque pumpkin rock.

If you are in the area or celebrating Halloween, Pumpkin Rock is the perfect adventure. A short hike suitable for children and adults, we highly recommend making the quick trip. You can witness why Norco is also known as “Horsetown USA” too. It’s quite  an interesting town 🐴

@HikeSnobs Tips:

  • The area is littered with graffiti and broken glass so be careful as you explore the area.
